The English sculptor and conceptual artist Simon Starling is fascinated by transformation processes. The installation called
Blue, Red, Yellow, Djungel (2002) from the Kröller-Müller museum’s collection comprises a huge hand-block-printed curtain and all the materials that were needed to make it, from the tree from Trinidad which was used to make the wooden blocks used as stamps to the tables that the artist worked at and the pots of ink used in the printing process. This catalogue, which was published to accompany the exhibition called
Djungel at Dundee Contemporary Arts, also includes a description of how this exciting work took shape.
